(I'm still hooked to his "via-book adventures".Specially "The Incredible Voyage" .And ,although sometimes he spent way too much time trying to get out of jails around the world, there's a lot to learn in his free-spirit ways.)

tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/ofs/cbofs/wind_forecast.shtml
NOAA wind forecast guidance system for the Chesapeake. Very interesting tool for planning your passages down or up the bay.

www.grib.us
Registration is free, easy and in a couple of minutes, after downloading a grib file, you may be able to see the behavior and intensity of the winds anywhere in the world, the pressure systems, rain and more. And with a simple click you can see an animation of the air masses dancing around any chosen area. Incredible to watch and very useful in making smart moves on a given passage.

www.windguru.com
A two row table page with arrows showing wind directions and intensities as well as swell direction and heights for every 3 hours with a maximum prediction of 7 days. Created with windsurfers in mind, still very easy to access for everyone that uses the wind as a way of moving at sea. No registration or download necessary.
